IL 2 STURMOVIK 1946 KEYBOARD AND MOUSE WINDOWS
Thanks Does the stick seem to work in the windows control panel game controlers? You say that you are able to assign the axis under the HOTAS section but it doesn't work ingame? I used to do flight sims along time ago and loved them, but I am not having any luck with getting started and I am getting frustrated. I am also using the Logitech Profiler with my Attack 3 Joystick, and I downloaded a profile from for IL2 Forgotten Battles and loaded it, but it does not look configured. The joystick is not working for me correctly, it starts ok, then the controls stop working. I must be just to simple to figure it out.
IL 2 STURMOVIK 1946 KEYBOARD AND MOUSE SOFTWARE
Joystick sensitivities can be altered by going to Hardware Setup/ Input from the main page, but you will need to have first calibrated your stick in Windows Game Controllers or any software that Logitech may have supplied. New keypresses (and key-combos) are added in the same way. Stick buttons are programmed in the same way. aileron, repeat the process, this time push the stick right, etc etc. The axis identity will appear in the window. Click opposite Elevator then pull the stick back. Left click in the right side of the page, opposite the axis you want to set, a small window will open. They are for binding in the joystick axes, in your case Pitch, Yaw, Roll and Throttle (Elevator, Rudder, Aileron, Power) At the very bottom of the page is a group called HOTAS controls - let's start with those. Those missing ones are for you to insert your own key-presses into for those controls you wish to use - you probably won't want all of them. You will notice that some of the keyboard inputs are listed, but not all. (Logical, eh?) There you will see a long list of, er, controls. "Why does this game not have a keyboard or joystick control option so you can configure and calibrate in game like many other flight sims?"įrom the main screen, go to Controls. which is the next best viewing solution for this sim if you do not have TIR. That means that you can assign one of the hat switches to function as a mouse. The reason why I am recommending that you get a Saitek or CH stick is because I know that the profiling software of both sticks has mouse emulation. I recommend that you look at The Nugget's Guide in my sig for a more detailed explanation of things. but they sometimes don't have any there so you will have to get one retail. The link I posted is to their reconditioned products site.
so in my humble opinion the Saiteks are a very good alternative. From your post I am assuming that you may not want to drop the cash for CH. they are a bit pricier but I have yet to hear any serious complaints about them. CH roducts are pretty good too from what I have heard. If you can get one from the site I linked it will be a bit less expensive. if you cant use TIR yet then I highly recommend a Saitek HOTAS setup.
WEll some of us use Track IR which is a nifty device that lets you use your head to look around.
